The first years of life, starting at (and before) conception are critical and can impact health, achievement, and wellbeing over the life-span.  Routinely, issues affecting young children are addressed via a sectoral perspective, i.e. health, child development, child protection, the home and community environment.  This disregards the fact that infancy and young childhood is a particularly vulnerable phase in life when quality investments provide significant returns for the individual and society.

MCH & ECD Consulting combines a rights-based approach with the evidence of neuro-science and child development and supports partners in designing, implementing and monitoring approaches that:

• Help communities build resilience so parents and families are supported in providing their infants and young children with the “nurturing care” they need, and
• Support those that are most vulnerable and likely to suffer from social disadvantage and exclusion, such as children with disabilities or developmental difficulties, from poor families, or socially excluded ethnic groups.
